2. Black Panther

The idea of Black Panther aka T’Challa,  being the one to step into the role that was voided by Captain America’s death would have been a foreign one a couple of years ago. When Black Panther was first introduced to the MCU in Captain America: Civil War, the two heroes were on opposite sides. Black Panther was looking to take down the Winter Soldier, so he teamed up with Iron Man and company to do so.

Since then, things have changed. In Infinity War, we’ll see them fight on the same side and in the previews it was T’Challa who told someone to “get this man his shield.” When it comes to Bucky, well, the end of Black Panther erases any doubt that these two heroes could co-exist. In fact, with the White Wolf nod form the comics, there’s a chance we can see them being the next dynamic duo.

Thanks to Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Letitia Wright, among many more, Black Panther has quickly risen of the ranks as Marvel’s most lucrative hero. Subsequently causing a rise in popularity, and the natural progression of his involvement with the MCU thanks to the $800M box office the critically acclaimed film netted. Should Feige decide to kill off Cap, and need a hero to take the mantle why not look at the hero from Wakanda? While we don’t expect him to carry the shield, he’d be an excellent replacement as the new face of Marvel, or the Avengers, better yet, it could be the start of the Illuminati.

We’ll see when Infinity War roles around what kind of role T’Challa will have in a  crowded superhero flick. We have no doubt that no matter the role, he’ll shine and prove why he’s the man to step up for Captain America.
