If Andy Serkis joins The Batman, what role could he play?

Recently in an interview with joblo.com, Andy Serkis, he is asked if he is on board with the idea of working with Matt Reeves on The Batman. Especially, since he and the director have a history together. Serkis states…

"“Oh, for sure! I mean, I’d go to the edge of the created universe with Matt [Reeves]. I mean, he’s the most brilliant director. I would work with anything with him again, y’know, I mean, I absolutely adore him and we’re very good friends, close friends, and I think he’s an extraordinary director so for sure.”"

With this news now we cannot help but imagine and begin to fantasize about potential roles for Andy Serkis in The Batman.

5. Scarecrow

Sure, we already have Scarecrow in Batman Begins with Cillian Murphy portraying the role. Nonetheless, many villains return from previous incarnations like The Joker, Catwoman and Bane. Hence, there is no reason we cannot do the same for Scarecrow then. Cillian Murphy does fine with the role, but can we do more? Can we do better? I like to think we can.

Looking back now Scarecrow’s fear-inducing illusions are starting to look a bit tame in Batman Begins. Imagine motion-capture Andy Serkis in the role, doing something with an appearance like in Batman: Arkham Knight. Instead of added post-production CGI and what not, we can use the actor in his motion capture to create some truly terrifying personas for the Scarecrow. We can have him doing stuff like in Batman: Arkham Asylum with various sizes as well. The actor is already capable of bringing fear to his presence like with Supreme Leader Snoke for example. Cleary, the actor can bring much intimidation and horror to the king of fear.
