Another Cameo for the Canuck!

There is a part of me which always chafes at the idea of Peter and Logan being friends. Back during the height of Wolverine’s popularity in the 1990s, Spidey rightly criticized him for killing opponents. Yet once both became New Avengers in 2005’s relaunch, they’ve become chummier and chummier. At least this time, Wolverine’s own experiences at least offer Peter some guidance. He has been cloned before (X-23), as well as had his genetics played with by the Weapon X program.

Scott Koblish continues on art after jumping aboard for last issue’s vacation. He has a more old school illustrative style than many of Marvel’s artists lately, but I like it. I also like that Annie May has freckles, if only because it seems too few characters seem to. That said, Chelicera’s design doesn’t quite work for me. She has the cliché “reverse color scheme” with green and black, yet the design seems too busy. There are a mixture of colors which kind of clash against each other. It’s old school, intended or not.

While Wolverine may likely be a guest star for this arc, it would make more sense for the Parkers to each out to Cyclops and Jean Grey. Both have been targets of Mr. Sinister and know more about him than Wolverine does. Perhaps that may be the route Mary Jane takes once Sinister is exposed, since she was the one who spoke to Cyke the most during Conway’s X-Men adventure. Or, the Parkers could stand alone as they face a while new Clone Saga together, since Mr. Sinister won’t stop with one.
