Emma Watson

You’ve probably seen her name tossed around as Batgirl for quite some time. The Harry Potter alum definitely has the looks and acting ability to play the role. Although she hasn’t won any major awards, the 28-year old actress is one of the more talented actresses.

She hasn’t starred in many critically acclaimed films but she’s stolen the screen no matter the movie. From Regression to The Circle, Watson has proven she’s able to tackle anything. Her performance in 2017’s Beauty and the Beast as Belle proved she’s absolutely box office gold with the film crossing the billion-dollar threshold.

In Cathy Yan’s film, she’d be great as a Barbara Gordon who has to regain her confidence after a grueling recovery. We’d like to see her in a more traditional role, suited up and ready to kick ass.

Chloë Grace Moretz

We don’t know the age range for Yan’s cast, but Chloë Grace Moretz would be perfect. She’s 21 and oozes talent whether it’s her role in Kick-Ass, Carrie, or Neighbors, Moretz has shown she’s ready for anything. A very young Barbra Gordon wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Moretz could play her in Matt Reeves’ film and/or in Leto’s solo movie which we hope is based on Batman: The Killing Joke. Being she’s so young, the studio could take advantage and exploit her character for years.

Additionally, when it comes to women empowerment Moretz is a huge advocate. Her real-life qualities would transfer on the big-screen for a character who exudes power, leadership and perseverance. There isn’t a version of Barbara Gordon that Moretz wouldn’t be able to play. However, she would be perfect in a role that forces her that explores Barbra’s struggles.

Should Yan decide to depict Barbara as a hero still looking to find her away after a tragic event, Moretz would be wonderful. Or as a hero still angry at the Joker looking to take revenge on the woman he loves the most, Harley Quinn.
