While Deathstroke may not have been there since the first season of Arrow, Slade Wilson has. And that is just as important.

There have been rumors circulating that season 7 of Arrow may be the final one. If that is the case then it is very important. Not much is known at the moment as to what the next season will be about. But if this does mark the end of the Green Arrow, then who better to be there at the end than his biggest rival?

When we first met Slade Wilson, he was trapped on the island along with Oliver. There, they managed to stop both Edward Fyers and Anthony Ivo. But in the process of stopping Ivo, this led to Slade being injected with Mirakuru, a drug that made him more aggressive. This would then lead to him being the main villain of season 2.

From there, Slade remained in prison and was only seen one time during season 3 when he faced off against both Oliver and Speedy. The next time he would be seen wouldn’t be until the end of season 5.

So it’s very apparent that of all of the villains to ever be featured on Arrow, Slade Wilson has had the most experiences with Oliver Queen. Therefore, it seems only fitting that in the seventh, and possibly final season, he play a more important role as everything comes full circle.

It doesn’t even have to be a role as a villain. In fact, he could once again be an ally of Green Arrow. And that’s also the great thing about Slade Wilson, is that you never know what side he’ll be on. That was slightly noted at the end of season 5. But what if that was a season long arc, whether or not Slade could be trusted one last time?
