Mark of a merc
Deathstroke has always been considered one of the best main villains in the Arrowverse. He has been said in the same sentence as Prometheus, Zoom, and even Reverse Flash. And it’s rightfully so.
Not only did Deathstroke have incredible writing like the other villains, but he left an imact on is rival, in this case Oliver Queen. Back in season two he killed Oliver’s mother. He did this as a part of the payback he felt Oliver deserved.
But now that that part of his life is over, it is time for Slade Wilson to take the next step in his life. That step being the mercenary he is most well known for being in the comics.
As said up above, Slade Wilson is most known for people not knowing what side he is on. This has given him the chance to play both sides throughout the years in the comics. Sometimes this even means he is is on his own side. And yet, he have yet to see him take this persona on Arrow.
So if he were to return in season 7, now would be a better time than ever. As said before, season 7 would be about coming full circle if it is the final season. For Slade Wilson, becoming that mercenary would be going full circle.
As to how he would end up being a mercenary is for another day. The most important thing is that he becomes said merc. Because this could actually end up working as the reason Oliver and Slade end up fighting again.
In the end, seeing mercenary Deathstroke would without a doubt be the best Deathstroke.
