Lewis Tan isn’t Nightwing: Here are 10 actors we think could be

There’s arguably no actor on the list more familiar with Batman than David Mazouz who plays Bruce Wayne on Fox’s Gotham. Mazouz is such a fan of his character that he expressed interest in playing Robin. To be specific, in 2017 Mazouz tweeted he’d like to play the son of Batman, Damian Wayne.

Of course, we think a better role for him would be as a young Dick Grayson. As the youngest actor on the list, David Mazouz (17) is also ideally suited from a comic book perspective. And, he’s so young that he could play in a number of films. 

In the comics, Dick Grayson was adopted by Bruce Wayne as a teenager after his parents were tragically killed in a circus accident. Bruce and Dick would share a unique bond because of their similar backstories, both losing their parents at a young age. Like Bruce, Dick would seek out the man who was responsible for the death of his parents.

Additionally, Dick would be Bruce’s first son after he adopted the orphaned teen. Mazouz would work well in a story that explores the relationship between Bruce and Dick.

Furthermore, the DCEU could use Mazouz to start up a Young Justice movie before he ultimately becomes Nightwing. The film could be a prequel to McKay’s Nightwing. In the comics, Dick became Nightwing at as a young adult. This would allow McKay to focus on Dick as young Bludhaven cop who recently discovered how to fly solo after leaving a team and Batman behind.
