1. Leonardo DiCaprio

When Warner Bros first announced a Martin Scorsese Joker movie Leonardo DiCaprio’s name was the first one tossed around. Of course, that didn’t happen. Instead of Joker, Todd Phillips could use DiCaprio for the role of Thomas Wayne. Adding Leonardo DiCaprio would make things interesting — to say the least, and be an excellent Thomas Wayne.

DiCaprio’s resume is littered with examples of his greatness and despite not winning an Oscar, the three-time Golden Globe winner has plenty of accolades. DiCaprio can do no wrong and would instantly bring a following to a movie that already has a ton of buzz. If there’s one role in DiCaprio’s lengthy resume that lends itself to Thomas Wayne it’s The Great Gatsby.

While Gatsby isn’t a layered character he is a billionaire, like Thomas Wayne. However, he flaunts his wealth by throwing lavish parties in hopes to get a woman he admires to show up. Thomas Wayne is also a man who usurps his wealth and intellect to advance society. DiCaprio’s portrayal as Howard Hughes in Aviator correlates to the richest man in Gotham. Hughes suffered from severe OCD and of course, DiCaprio was brilliant in his Oscar-worthy performance. With those two roles alone and DiCaprio’s greatness, there’s arguably no better actor for Todd Phillips’ Thomas Wayne.
