Birds of Prey: 4 actresses who should join Harley Quinn

Eiza Gonzalez – Renee Montoya 

Another Batman the Animated Series character that saw a rise in popularity was Renee Montoya. In season one, episode six Renee told her side of the story about how Batman died. She’s a tough as nails detective who joins Commissioner Gordon’s Blue Boys.

Additionally, Renee’s character experiences tragedy and downfall after her partner Cris was murdered by Corrigan. Renee spiraled out of control and almost murdered Corrigan in cold blood. Unable to continue as a cop, Renee would get hired by Question as a P.I. Together they worked to take down a credit me syndicate called Intergang.

Question opted to help Renee cope with her anger by introducing her to Richard Dragon. During her training, she discovered that Question was dying and she would soon take the mantle.

The name Eiza Gonzalez circled the rumor mills for two years since the Harley Quinn spinoff announcement in 2016. Rumors suggested Gonzalez would play the role of Selena Kyle aka Catwoman. However, with Birds of Prey looking to diversify the cast, especially with the addition of Renee Montoya, Gonzalez would be a perfect fit.

Fans of Netflix’s From Dusk Till Dawn will recognize Gonzalez who played, Santanico Pandemoniu. As Santanico, Gonzalez played a badass vampire heiress and head of Titty Twister. Her character is dangerous as she is tantalizing and embodies the meaning of empowerment. Likewise, her character, Darling, in Baby Driver was tough as they come despite her exterior. As Renee Montoya, she’ll tap into the gritty street cop side that makes Renee one of the baddest chicks in Gotham.
