6. Kaya Scodelario

The 26-year old Kaya Scodelario has slowly made a name for herself. The London born actress is still in search for that breakout role. That could happen in the upcoming Ted Bundy bio-pic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Or it could happen in Matt Reeves The Batman as Selina Kyle. Scodelario isn’t a newcomer to the big screen with roles two franchise, The Maze Runner, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Her Maze Runner character Teresa arrives in a land full of boys — she’s the only female Glader. In Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tells she plays Carina Smyth. Carina isn’t a damsel in distress, in fact, she’s a gifted intellect with dreams of studying at the university. After falling in with the pirates she uses her intellect to guide them to the prized trident of Poseidon.

Scodelario shined in every scene — even those with the great Johnny Depp. In Pirates, she showed she can hold her own in comedic fashion and a hero in her own right. However, the darker side of Selina Kyle is what she’ll have to depict according to the Year One story arc. If you need proof, look no further than her role as Effy on Skins. Effy was dark, to say the least. In Skins, Effy his a drug abusing teen, a bad girl that often got into trouble. There was nothing lighthearted about her role in Skins which aids in her ability to portray the darkest parts of Selina.
