Matt Reeves could look to for a black actress to play the role of Selina Kyle. They DCEU has done a great job with diversity, like casting Jason Mamoa has Aquaman — for example. Furthermore, the time of Catwoman has been depicted by a black actress before, though the film wasn’t successful. Still, it doesn’t mean we can’t get another black Selina Kyle.

Moreover, the essence of Selina Kyle isn’t dictated by the color of her skin. At her core, she’s a strong, tough who is willing to do what it takes to ensure her survival. Nathalie Emmanuel’s Game of Thrones character understands that. Missandei was kidnapped and held captive as a salve. Her ability to master many languages made her special. After being rescued she serves as the right hand to the Queen of Dragons.

Emmanuel’s acting granted her an inevitable opportunity to star in a major Hollywood film. In 2015 she joined the Fast and Furious franchise as a tech-savvy genius, Ramsey in Fast and Furious 7. In addition to Fast and Furious, Emmanuel starred as Harriet in the Maze Runner latter two sequels. In 2018 she starred in the Netflix science-fiction thriller, The Titan as W.D. Tally Rutherford. Emmanuel would bring diversity to the comic book world, something the DCEU has done well, so why not have Nathalie Emmanuel as Selina Kyle.
