Which Marvel Cinematic Universe movies would make for quality add-ons after the Disney-Fox merger?

The Fox and Disney deal has finally gone through. Walt Disney Company purchased some of 20th Century Fox’s properties for $71.3 billion! While there are a lot of movies and shows that go into this deal, comic book fans are excited for one main reason. The X-Men franchise is finally going back home to Marvel Comics. The X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four are all under the Marvel/Disney Umbrella.

What this means for comic book fans is we will get to see some crossovers we’ve been waiting to see. Secret Wars (the 1984, 2004, or 2015 version), Utopia, The Asgardian Wars, are just a few of the titles that we could see in the future. Imagine Avengers 4 if we could have seen Wolverine taking a chunk out of Thanos or Silver Surfer joining in like he did in the Infinity Gauntlet comic. Here are four exciting Marvel Comics crossovers that could break records if they’re made into movies.

Avengers vs. X-Men

In 2012, Marvel pit the X-Men and the Avengers against each other. The Phoenix Force was on its way to Earth and Cyclops and Captain America had different plans on how to handle the situation.

The mutant community all knew that the host was going to be Hope Summers. Cyclops wanted to use her to reactivate the mutant gene after M-Day. Captain America wanted to keep Hope from away the Phoenix Force so it wouldn’t destroy the world. With two strong minded leaders doing what they thought was best, there was no way this didn’t end up in a fight.

Let’s get the easy one out the way first. The first thing that came to mind when the 20th Century Fox deal was going through was Avengers vs. X-Men. Two of the premier Marvel Comics teams fighting on screen would be the biggest event in comic book movie history.

Not only that, it could take the number one spot in terms of box office earning. You get Captain America fighting Cyclops, Iron Man against Magneto, and Wolverine against Spider-Man (if The movie puts Logan on the X-Men and not as an Avenger). This is the movie everyone has been waiting for and that was before AVX was even a comic book.
