Old Man Logan
After decades of losing, the villains got their act together. Led by Red Skull, the villains organized and defeated the heroes of Earth. They realized that they outnumbered the heroes and took advantage of that. Almost all the heroes were killed and the villains divided the United States among their generals and ruled the world. One hero that survived was Wolverine. They did something so heinous that he quit the superhero life and refused to pop his claws.
After his family was killed, Logan popped his claws once again, Avenged his family, and went on to try and save the world on his own.
This may be a shot in the dark because the series is so grim, but this would be an amazing story to tell. Old Man Logan makes Avengers: Infinity War look like a Nick Jr. show. The heroes in that world were brutally killed and they didn’t come back from the dead. Obviously, this would have to be an alternate reality since killing the heroes of the MCU would be ridiculous and suicide for the franchise. Nevertheless, people would flock to the theaters for this R-rated movie.
