Otto Octavius

Last, but certainly not least, the man who actually defeated Spider-Man; Otto Octavius. Otto is one of the smartest villains Spider-Man has ever faced. He may actually be THE smartest. That topped with his mechanical arms and you have one heck of a villain. Otto grew up with an abusive father and an overbearing mother. The two contradictions is more than likely how he ended up as a supervillain. Other than creating the Sinister Six, Otto didn’t have any major accomplishments until he defeated Spider-Man and took over his life.

This is a way that Sony might be able to get away with using Spider-Man. Instead of Spider-Man, Otto becomes the Superior Spider-Man or Octopus to save lives the way he did in comics.

There’s also the Ultimate version of Otto that’s just a despicable human being who worked with Norman Osborn to recreate the Super Soldier Serum. This was an Otto who was more than ok with kidnapping, murder, and every other crime you could think of. In the end, Otto tried to change and be a better person, but it ended with him getting killed by the Green Goblin.
