Power Rangers movie from Hasbro: 6 things we want to see
3. Make Tommy the focus of the film
One of the greatest things about Chris Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy was the focus he put on the villain. A dull villain could end up killing a movie, see Justice League. However, a villain with depth works wonders like the aforementioned TDK, or most recently, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Infinity War. Tommy, the new bad boy in town will overshadow the formerly popular, Jason.
Unlike Jason, Tommy’s more of a loner and doesn’t have parents. It’ll be great if he works at Jason’s father shop. Moreover, Rita, deeming herself too old to harness the Green Ranger Power will need someone stronger, enter Tommy.
Tommy Oliver, a mysterious teenager arrives in Angel Grove looking for yet another place to call to home. The quiet, yet charismatic social outcast becomes a target of Rita Repulsa whose plans had been continually foiled by the Power Rangers. One night after returning from work Tommy is kidnapped by Rita. Once in her presence she explores the mind of Tommy exploiting the tragic past he had overcome.
Using her magic Rita takes control over Tommy’s mind making him her slave and granted him the powers of the Green Ranger. More than anything, the mystery behind the Green Ranger shouldn’t loom over the movie. Instead, it should be revealed early so that the Rangers can turn Tommy just in time to foil Rita’s plans.
