9. Ewan McGregor

Star Wars fans either love or hate Ewan McGregor who played the young Obi-Wan Kenobi in George Lucas Star Wars trilogy. For us, McGregor can do no wrong. McGregor etched a name for himself in Hollywood displaying versatility from Black Hawk Down to Beauty and the Beast. Once again, in Christopher Robin, McGregor is proving that he has bounds or limitations. As Christopher Robin, he’s both funny and charming, qualities ideally suited for brash Hal Jordan. At 47, McGregor is the perfect age to play a savvy Green Lantern and he looks a lot like the comic book version.

8. Joel Edgerton

With roles in Warrior, It Comes at Night, Midnight Special, and The Gift — Edgerton is becoming a household name. If you’ve seen Netflix’s Bright you’ll understand why we think Edgerton is perfectly suited for Green Lantern Corps. He proved that he’s capable of holding down an action movie and showed that he would not be outshined by the great Will Smith.  As the Orc, Nick Jakoby Edgerton played the role of the partner who didn’t fit in. There was some amazing banter between he and Will Smith which undoubtedly led to Netflix producing a second film.

In Green Lantern, however, Edgerton would play more of the leader a role he’d excel in. It’s been speculated that Green Lantern will involve John Stewart and Hal Jordan and a buddy-cop style film. Edgerton would nail the role. Still, he doesn’t exactly fit the bill as an action star like the other names on the list.
