If there’s anyone more attached to franchises than Karl Urban out there let us know. Should the DCEU want to continue Hal Jordan story after Green Lantern Corps, we doubt Urban would have an issue with it. In fact, Urban’s claim to fame was part of a franchise. He played the role of Éomer in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Then he latched onto another lucrative franchise in Star Trek, as Leonard McCoy.

In both roles, Urban proved that he was a hidden talent. Fans quickly recognized his acting ability and called for him to play Bruce Wayne and Cable. Unlike Hamm, however, it doesn’t appear that Urban is against joining superhero franchises either. As a matter of fact, had a supporting role in Thor Ragnorak. Urban played the villainous double battle ax-wielding Skruge.

Before he worked for Marvel, Urban worked with DC Comics, kind of. He appeared alongside Bruce Willis in DC Comics-inspired action flick RED. Additionally, he’s suited as a hero in 2012’s Dredd remake of the 1995 film based on 2000 AD, a British comic book. Urban’s portrayal as Dredd garnered fan support for him to play Batman. While that hasn’t happened,  we’d like to see him do so again — this time as Hal Jordan.
