Brightest day old as dirt why a seasoned Hal Jordan can work. The DCEU could make Hal Jordan the seasoned Green Lantern in Green Lantern Corps and the idea makes sense

If you follow any comic book movie outlet you’ve likely read the rumors that suggest Tom Cruise could play Hal Jordan in DCEU’s Green Lantern Corps. The prospect of Cruise jumping from Mission Impossible to the DCEU created major buzz. The idea is interesting, considering Cruise’s resume. Moreover, rumors also suggest that Cruise would only take the role if Johns changed the fatal ending of Hal Jordan. We’ll have to wait and see if the rumors are true. However, Cruise’s name wasn’t the only one circling the Green Lantern role.

Mark Wahlberg was also allegedly considered to play Hal Jordan back when the old DCEU presidents were using a Green Lantern Corps scrip written by David Goyer. Watler Hamada opted to toss Goyer’s script in favor of Geoff Johns’ and the idea of Wahlberg along with it… apparently.

Despite the changes, it’s hard to ignore the commonality that exists with these rumors. Cruise and Wahlberg,  seasoned actors with resumes dating back to the late 80s and early 90s respectively. They are big names and over 40 which means the DCEU has a type in mind for Hal Jordan. Of course, we have our list of seasoned actors who also fit the criteria. But, there’s something bigger at play and we know what it is. We except an old Hal Jordan for Green Lantern Corps and we think it’s a great idea.
