Green Lantern Corps: Why an older Hal Jordan makes sense for the DCEU

1. Other Green Lanterns can benefit as well

Other Green Lanterns like Kyle Rayner who became a godlike figure Ion after serving as the only Green Lantern for a time. Then there’s Jessica Cruz a hero who doesn’t fit the bill, mentally. She’s basically afraid of everything and her journey to wield the Green Lantern power is unique.  The timidness of her character and her ability to overcome her fears is a journey fans would love. With an old Hal Jordan, the explorations of their Lantern’s can happen. 

There’s no doubt in our minds that the DCEU will focus on an older actor to play Hal Jordan and it’s a smart move. If the game plan calls for Hal Jordan to die in the Geoff Johns script — so be it. With Hal Jordan being old, he can also act as a mentor which would make for a great dynamic for the Green Lantern Corps. Whether or Tom Cruise likes the idea shouldn’t matter since there are so many other Green Lanterns to explore.
