We’ll see three times the horror thanks to Tom Hardy signing on for a Venom trilogy which could only mean the next two films will feature…

One of Marvel’s most twisted anti-heroes, Venom will make his solo debut October 4, 2018. There’s a lot of hype around the gory action-packed horror thriller starring Tom Hardy. Hardy is a talented actor who received major fan support after being cast as Eddie Brock. It turns out that he’ll play Eddie Brock for more than one film. According to Total Film Magazine, Hardy has signed on to play Venom for three films. Additionally Hardy as an open mind when it comes that what he wants from the trilogy.

"“I’m open to whatever you want to do with it. We’ve signed up for three of them. So it’s very much an open case. We’ll see what people’s responses are to it. I think it’s an awesome character. I love playing both of them. It’s an amuse-bouche, and for Sony, it’s the Venom-verse launched in isolation, as it were.”"

The news shouldn’t come as a surprise. Sony made it clear that they were building a Spider-Man-less universe and who better than Venom to replace our favorite wall-crawler. The question is… What can we expect from the next two films?

4. R-Rated Venom

We’ve been told that the first Venom movie is pushing the limits of PG-13, but that’s not enough. Venom is a diabolical anti-hero who uses lethal force to dispose of criminals. Moreover, director Ruben Fleischer drew inspiration from the classic R-rated horror movie, An American Werewolf in London. Now that we know Hardy will appear in two more films we can hope one of them will be rated R. However, that may conflict with something Sony has in store for Venom.
