3. Booster Gold

Booster Gold has been around for over 30 years, becoming a popular character in both comics and animated features. He uses his time traveling technology to help his quest for fame and glory as a superhero. Booster’s personality and sense of humor has always been played up to differentiate him from some of the more serious DC characters. However, other versions have given him some emotional depth to help develop the character.

In March, it was reported that a Booster Gold film was in development. Greg Berlanti, known for his work on the DCTV series Green Arrow and Flash, was in charge of the project. At that time, it was rumored that Warner Bros. was reviewing the script and exploring how to fit the movie in the DCEU slate.

We’ve considered the pros and cons of a Booster Gold movie before. But that was before Justice League and some other changes with the DCEU. It seems like now is the perfect time for the time traveler to make is way to the big screen. Booster Gold would inject some much needed humor and levity in the DCEU, similar to the approach used for Shazam!. A movie about the trappings of celebrity and fame would be relevant. And with the right casting, Booster Gold would fit in well next to Ezra Miller’s Flash and play off Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman or Ray Fisher’s Cyborg. The Justice League of the DCEU clearly needs a shake up already and Booster Gold could be the answer.
