The DCEU appears to want to completely get away from the status quo of one of their most iconic character heroes by casting a black actor to play Superman.

It didn’t take long for the hate to rain down and flood social media after rumors got out that Warner Bros. was considering Michael B. Jordan to replace Henry Cavill in the DCEU. The alleged casting choice caused a backlash from fans across social media of all races and nationalities. However, we’re talking about a monumental comic book character in Superman. After all, he’s been a white man since the 30s.

It’s okay for comic fans to want an accurate depiction of arguably DC’s most famous hero. What if I told you, that a Black Superman isn’t exactly unheard of? We can get the best of both worlds. Hardcore DC Comics fans know what and who I’m talking.

Despite the proof that a black Superman exists in the pages of DC Comics, there’s still an outcry. But, Michael B. Jordan isn’t the type of guy that’ll ignore social media. In fact, we think he can handle the pressure — he has before. Furthermore, there are times when studios made changes to the race of a character and it seamlessly goes unnoticed. Some of those characters exist in both the DCEU and MCU and they didn’t receive this kind of hate.
