Review: DC Artists Alley figures from Nooligan
The newest figures to join the DC Artists Alley Designer Vinyl collection include three very fun designs from Hainanu “Nooligan” Saulque.
When it comes to collectibles, there’s nothing quite like the various collections from DC Collectibles. They offer something for everyone, and for collectors who enjoy conversation pieces that offer a new take on iconic characters there is nothing like the DC Artists Alley Designer Vinyl figures. The latest additions to the collection include three statues from uber-talented artist Hainanu “Nooligan” Saulque.
Nooligan brings his unique take on Batman, the Joker and Harley Quinn to the DC Artists Alley collection and they’re a lot of fun. What’s more is that there are three versions of the statues: Standard Color (limited to 3000 units), the Black and White Variants (limited to 500 units), and the Day of the Dead Variants (limited to 1500 units and available exclusively at GameStop).
The Standard Color and Black and White Variants are available everywhere comics are sold. The vinyl figures, sculpted by Paul Harding, retail for $40.00.

All three characters are sporting sneakers, which is something very near and dear to Nooligan’s heart. What better way to put a unique spin on three iconic characters than to depict them with their Chucks? The Joker features a bold design and a super snazzy outfit while Batman is slightly hunched over and ready to deal with whatever the Clown Prince throws at him. Harley Quinn, on the other hand, is ready for everything. She’s poised and exudes confidence as she holds her bat and points where her next target will soon be flying.
I was fortunate enough to receive the Black and White Variant set and it’s absolutely stunning. The details are incredibly intricate and the black and white coloration makes the figures stand out. I particularly love the way the figures are outlined in opposite colors, making them look like illustrations come to life. All three sets have their distinct advantages, though. The Joker’s outfit is intricately detailed, down to his black and white-checkered shirt and hanging suspenders. And the Day of the Dead Variants are a lot of fun with colorful additions to the classic Standard figures.
You can pre-order the figures now, or pick them up in stores the week of September 24.
