3. Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 2019)

I think it’s far that when Sony first announced they were rebooting Spider-Man again after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), there was some mixed reaction among the fan community. Even though this would finally allow Spider-Man into the MCU, did we really need to start all over again with another version of the web-slinger in high school?

Fortunately, after appearing in three movies, Tom Holland has proven that he plays a very good teenage Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Moreover, despite some criticisms that it wasn’t comic accurate and that Peter seemed too much like Tony Stark’s Robin, Spider-Man: Homecoming (2016) was still very well received and a box-office hit. That was enough to at least make moviegoers curious enough about a sequel, which was already in the works before Homecoming even debuted in theaters.

Clearly, Avengers: Infinity War has heightened interest in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Since the sequel comes out after Avengers 4, it’s no secret that Peter will somehow come back after Thanos’ snap vanished him from existence. The question is what effect will this have on Peter, especially if his benefactor, Tony Stark, also winds up retiring as Iron Man or gets killed at the end of Avengers 4.

There’s also the rumored casting of Jake Gyllenhaal–who ironically almost replaced Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker for Spider-Man 2 (2004)–as the villain Quentin Beck/Mysterio. Just like the casting of Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture, Gyllenhaal is A-list talent, which speaks in Sony’s favor that they’re able to recruit high profile actors for major roles.
