2. Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
There weren’t a lot of people who thought a Captain America movie would be successful (myself included), especially with Chris Evans. Well, everyone who doubted him and the movie were wrong. Chris Evans did for Captain America what Michael Keaton did for Batman.
Chris Evans was Johnny Storm in the first two Fantastic Four movies and people had their issues with him playing two Marvel characters. Evans was so good as Steve Rogers that people forgot about him being Johnny Storm (despite playing that character well). Evans was believable as a skinny kid, who just wanted to do the right thing. As Captain America, he was perfect as a leader and soldier.
The moments that stand out most for me come during Marvel’s The Avengers. The subtle jokes like:
"“I understood that reference.”"
His handing Nick Fury ten dollars when he lost the best was great, too. There was also the animosity between him and Tony Stark that came straight out of the comics. People also regard Captain America: Winter Soldier as the best movie in the MCU. When Chris Evans is done as Captain America, the Avengers won’t be the same. Just like his comic book counterpart, Captain America is the heart and soul of the Avengers. That said, this next person had the best performance.
