7. Hugo Weaving as V (V for Vendetta)

It’s one thing to make a person feel your performance when they can see your face. It’s another thing when you can make an audience of people feel emotions in a movie only using your words. For the entire movie, we couldn’t see Hugo Weaving’s face. We could, however, feel everything he said. You can write a great soliloquy, but it won’t mean anything if the performer can’t deliver. It doesn’t matter how many times you see V for Vendetta, as Weaving’s words will still hit you in the heart.

It wasn’t just the deep words either. Weaving was also funny. I don’t know if it was because he was so serious that seeing him do anything comedic was hilarious or if he was just that good. Watching him laugh as he explains his name to Evey or watching him fight a metal suit of armor was entertaining. It also gave a break in the serious tone of the movie. Weaving was the complete package from start to finish. He’s one of the few actors to bring life to a comic book character and people have few to zero complaints.
