Review: Edge of Spider-Geddon #4, Harry and Norman
Edge of Spider-Geddon #4 gives us a look at Norman Osborn as Spider-Man, or Spider-Norman, if you prefer. Here’s our review.
Edge of Spider-Geddon #4 is meant to be read prior to Spider-Geddon #0, which is also out this week. In this issue, we’re introduced to a world where Peter is dead, Norman is Spider-Man (one with four extra arms) and Harry suits up as a goblin. It’s unlike the other world’s we’ve seen and the idea of Norman being a hero is interesting and terrifying all at once.
What does the world have to come to for Norman to be in the role of Spider-Man? For one, Peter Parker has to be dead. This time, Harry is made out to be the bad guy, but in reality, he’s still just upset about Peter’s death. It gives us an interesting take on the father-son dynamic between Harry and Norman. However, that’s all we really get in this issue. Harry and Norman clearly have some issues to work out.
Norman has what used to be a cosmic cube in his possession and even though it is no longer known as that, it is still powerful. When Norman and Harry get into a bit of a scuffle, Harry ends up blasting it. As Norman is realizing what he just did, Spider-Punk comes and grabs him.

With this taking place just before the events of Spider-Geddon, we have a good idea of which characters have been pulled into the fold. While we did get some promotional images for the event, it didn’t tell us much about the characters and what their lives were currently like.
This final issue of the mini-series took us into a world that isn’t visited much. We know that Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen have existed on other Earth’s before, but the main focus is usually on Peter Parker and not the rest of the characters we’ve seen here. I’m intrigued by Norman Osborn being Spider-Man and it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out in the big event.
