6. Captain America: Civil War
The animosity between Tony Stark and Captain America had been building since the first Avengers movie. It was only a matter of time before a situation came up where the two of them would be at opposite sides of a fight. After the events of all the previous MCU movies, Marvel gave us that conflict. The MCU introduced one of the most beloved titles in Marvel Comics; Civil War.
Captain America: Civil War didn’t follow the comic book series perfectly. There was too much going on in the Civil War comic to do that story in one movie. However, it did keep all of the elements that made the movie great. Captain America and his team against Tony Stark and his roster. One of the best parts is that we didn’t have to wait until the end of the movie to get the big fight scene between the two teams and the scene lived up to the hype. The action was creative, the quips were funny, and despite the team that lost, everyone saved face.
Then there was the villain. Zemo put a plan together that broke the Avengers at their core. Even after Stark and Cap made up and found out that Bucky was mind controlled at the time, it didn’t matter to Stark. Bucky killed his parents and he needed revenge. Captain America: Civil War doesn’t end on a happy note, but it does set the stage for the future. This was also the movie where Black Panther and Spider-Man debuted and rocked the house.
