4. The Avengers

Before there was Avengers: Infinity Wars and Justice League, there was The Avengers. A movie that proved that having the patience to build a universe is worth the wait. When Nick Fury first brought up the Avengers Initiative, the pressure was on Marvel to deliver a great Avengers movie. If this movie failed it would have been a while until another project like this would be green-lit again. Thankfully, this movie was a major success.

People wanted to see Thor fight Hulk, Captain America to lead, and have a great story to boot. The Avengers provided everything that fans of comic books wanted on top of making a movie that’s pleasing to the masses. You also have to give each star a moment in the sun on top of introducing Mark Ruffalo. He was their third Hulk in less than twelve years.

The Avengers accomplished all of this and also set up the events of Captain America: Civil War with the tension between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark and Avengers: Infinity War with the reveal that Thanos in the post-credit scene.

The Avengers also gave us one of the best villains in comic book movie history. Loki was great in the first Thor movie, but he was amazing in this Avengers film. He provided the perfect antagonist to the Avengers. He’s also the reason the Avengers came together in the comics. It was perfect.
