Dark Avengers: Why they’re one of the best Avengers rosters

There’s plenty of intrigue around the Dark Avengers, especially if a script comes to fruition.
Rumors have circulated that a Dark Avengers script has been commissioned for a movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Who are the Dark Avengers? Well, they’re a result of what happens when you put Norman Osborn in charge of the world’s security. He took his Thunderbolts and made them Avengers.
Bullseye became Hawkeye, Moonstone became Ms. Marvel, Venom (Mac Gargan) became Spider-Man, Daken became Wolverine, and Norman Osborn took one of Tony Stark’s Iron Man armors and became the Iron Patriot. They were also joined by the real Greek God of War Ares and the lunatic and endlessly powerful Sentry. If this script gets written and the Dark Avengers are used, this is going to be brilliant.
First, this is a great continuation to a Secret Invasion storyline since Norman Osborn got the shot that killed the Skrull Queen. Since the world saw Norman save the world, they entrusted him with their lives. This could work like the comics and lead directly into a Dark Avengers series. Allow me to explain what makes this Avengers roster so good and why this team would work on screen.
Hardcore team for a hardcore time
Let’s be honest, things in the world are messed up. If this was a world full of people with superpowers, then we’d end up with a much more dangerous world. Unfortunately, not everyone is intimidated by the Avengers. The villains know that there are rules that the Avengers have to follow so they aren’t easily intimidated anymore. The Dark Avengers are the perfect group to usher in a different kind of MCU team.
Some people believe the Avengers are too soft. The Avengers aren’t thrilled with having to go to a place within themselves where they have to kill. The Dark Avengers love it. Venom enjoys eating people, Daken possibly gets off on having blood on his hands and claws, and Ares is the God of War and knows that some people have to be killed.
With Sentry doing whatever Norman Osborn tells him, it scares the poop out of people and keeps them in check. Also, these aren’t the fun Avengers we’re used to seeing. A change in between regimes isn’t a bad idea. This will break up the Disney fun team and bring in something darker. Pun intended.
