Sister Maggie

Sister Maggie may have had the most important role in this season. She was charged with keeping Matt of nursing Matt back to health, keeping him on the path of good, all while hiding the secret that she was his biological mother. If that wasn’t enough, she took in Karen Page when she was going to leave the city and help hide her and Matt when Dex and the FBI were looking for her.  Sister Maggie was willing to sacrifice her life to do what was right. She was definitely one of the reasons Matt didn’t succumb to his dark urges.

Grade: A

Sister Maggie gave Matt one heck of a talking to in the very first episode. This established who  she was going to be throughout the season. Matt needed someone like this and wasn’t going to be Foggy or Karen.

Foggy Nelson

While Foggy was still good, he may have taken a step back in this season. Not out of what the actor did, his role was just different. He went back to being Matt’s sidekick instead of the leader he was in the beginning, and turned into a stronger character towards the end of season 2 and while defending Luke Cage in Luke’s series.

I would have liked to see Foggy more of a leader throughout the season. He should be more than just Matt’s sidekick. It may not be like that in the comics, but Foggy being brave and in charge fits him in the series.

Grade: A-

Foggy’s best moment came when he pieced Fisk’s plan together. He was like a man possessed and he was right. It wasn’t the police, Matt, or the media. Foggy Nelson started the momentum to take down the Kingpin.
