Review: Spider-Geddon #3 brings one big team up

facebooktwitterreddit

Spider-Geddon #3 gets the action going and we see a larger group of Spider-People teaming up against the Inheritors.

When Spider-Geddon first started, we knew there would be a ton of Spider-People in it. While some are on side missions that can be read about in Vault of SpidersSpider-Force and Spider-Girls, the majority are working to stop the Inheritors in a more direct matter. At least that’s what ends up happening here.

Miles Morales and his crew want to take action, but the Superior Octopus thinks that it’s basically a death trap if they do that. However, they do it anyway and provide the others with a distraction to try to get to Solus. Miles and his team just want to stop Jennix from setting up the cloning vats.

Honestly, there are a lot of characters to keep track of in this event. I hadn’t even heard of some of them prior to this. However, I think grouping them up instead of focusing on individuals is an easy way to keep track of them. Miles and Doc Ock each have a group that they are pretty much in charge of. Their two groups are the focus of the issue.

During this issue, I found myself wanting Doc Ock to be wrong for once, but it makes sense that he’s right about Miles and his group not being able to keep up with the Inheritors. I do like the choice to have Doc Ock find a reason to provide them with backup. He used their distraction as well as he could while most of his group helped the others.

Considering how many characters are in this, the art continues to be pretty good. I like the looks of the characters and the big action scene was done well. Although, it would have been cool to see Spider-Ham have a texture like what we see with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. That isn’t totally necessary to this story, though.
