14. Spider-Man (2002)

Up next is Lee’s cameo in the next Marvel movie, after X-Men, Spider-Man (2002).

Lee ended up appearing not just once, but twice, in this movie. Now you might be thinking I am talking a load of rubbish, and that he only appeared the once in the movie, and you would be right, and wrong.

He did appear twice, but only one of his cameo appearances made it through the final rounds of editing. The other ended up being left on the cutting room floor. It did, however, make it into the deleted scenes on the DVD / Blu-Ray release which was great to see.

Lee’s cameo that made the movie is when Spider-Man and the Green Goblin are going head to head with each other. The battle takes place in Times Square, and during the battle, debris is created when the two collide into a building. Lee ends up saving a young girl from the falling debris by grabbing her and whisking her off to safety just before it comes crashing down.

The cameo appearance that didn’t make the final cut was when he appears as a street vendor and asks Peter Parker: “Hey kid, would you like a pair of these glasses? They’re the kind they wore in X-Men.”

In my mind, this is just gold. It’s just such a shame that it never made the final cut. At least they included it in the deleted scenes though.
