The Return of Wolverine

Stories: Wolverine and the X-Men (Jason Aaron), Death of WolverineOld Man LoganReturn of Wolverine

Wolverine lost his healing factor and everyone assumed that this was just a prelude to a series where he’d get his powers back. When Charles Soule wrote a story called Death of Wolverine we assumed this was a metaphor. When Old Man Logan came to the 616 universe, it looked like he was the permanent replacement for the original Wolverine. Well, it took a while but Wolverine is back in Return of Wolverine. Too bad Old Man Logan will die in the upcoming 12 part series called Dead Man Logan.

Logan is one of the most important members of the X-Men. Not just from a sales standpoint (and he does move units and merchandise) He’s the big brother of the team. He’s their protector. The guy who will go to a place where his teammates won’t. Wolverine probably won’t be back on the roster until the last two or three issues to build up excitement. But he will be back. When Logan does return, his family is going to have a lot of questions for him. More than that, there is another person Wolverine is going to have a long talk with after he returns.
