30 greatest Arrowverse villains, ranked
By Alex Hodgson
5. Damien Darhk
Single-handily the best thing to come out of Arrow Season 4, Darhk was a former member of the League of Assassins who had gained magical powers. Neil McDonough played him with such charm that it was impossible not to like him. Even though Season 4 was definitely the weakest season of Arrow, Darhk’s charisma managed to keep you watching.
Darhk teamed up with HIVE to build his ark; an underground facility designed to protect him from a global nuclear disaster. His plan, Genesis, planned to wipe out all but a select few lives on Earth. The chosen few would retreat to the ark and then begin life anew after the apocalypse.
Though he was partially successful (the town of Havenrock was destroyed by a nuclear warhead), ultimately, the Green Arrow thwarted his plans. When the two characters next met, Oliver decided that the only way to save his city was to kill Darhk (for the first time).
However, even death couldn’t keep Darhk away from the Arrowverse. He returned to battle the Legends in both Season 2 and 3. His charm and charisma shone through as he became part of his own supervillain team: the Legion of Doom. In Season 3, he was even able to find some redemption when he sacrificed himself to save his daughter, Nora.
