27. Lillian Luthor

The head of the anti-alien organization CADMUS, Lillian Luthor first appeared during Supergirl Season 2. At first, Brenda Strong’s character remained a mystery but the plot thickened once her true identity was revealed. This opened up a whole line of questioning surrounding Lena’s true motives.

She was particularly cold towards Lena because of the fact she was the product of one of her husband’s affairs. However, when he brought Lena home to meet the family, she became impressed by the girl’s intellect.

Lillian insists that she tries to do what’s best for her family and always claims to have Lena’s best interests at heart. However, it’s clear that she also has a hatred of Supergirl that comes from her cousin’s battle with Lex Luthor. She even wore the famous “Lexo-suit” armor to battle Kara.

Luthor was responsible for creating Metallo and Cyborg Superman while she also supplied Chet Miner’s gang with alien weapons. She also turned Jeremiah Danvers into a cyborg and manipulated him into infiltrating the DEO. This cut particularly deeply with both Alex and Kara, after many years, they finally had their father back, only for him to betray them.

After Morgan Edge attempted to poison Lena, Lillian returned to National City to seek revenge on him.
