Should the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe be thankful this year this?

It’s that time of year, where we sit down at the dinner table and give thanks. Health, loved ones, and careers are some of the things we should be grateful for, and the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are no different. Steve Rogers can be thankful for Dr. Abraham Erskine creating the Super Soldier Serum, and Tony Stark can be thankful forPepper Potts being there to kick him in the butt when he needs it. The events of Avengers: Infinity War made for a rough year, but there are still things certain characters in the MCU can be thankful for.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man

Spider-Man was running around in a homemade costume before he met Tony Stark. Stark hooked him up with a brand new suit, with a ton of cool accessories and upgrades he couldn’t afford on his own. However, the suit alone isn’t the reason Peter should be thankful for Tony Stark. It’s the speech he gave him after he almost cost a boat full of people their lives. When Tony made Peter give the suit back, he told him that if he’s nothing without the suit he shouldn’t have it. It was a message Peter needed to hear, and since it came from someone he respected, it held a lot of weight. Ultimately, Peter defeated the Vulture, despite not having the fancy suit. Peter eventually got that suit back, but not before learning a lesson from Tony Stark. Hopefully, he’ll continue to commit it to heart when (or if) he comes back.

Thor

Thor has lost just about everything in the last year or so. Yet, the best thing that happened to him was Hela crushing his hammer. Thor may have had a near unbreakable weapon, but he seemed to be too dependent on it. When he lost Mjölnir, Thor had to go back to fighting with his hands. But, Odin came to him in a vision and reminded Thor that he’s the God of Thunder and not the “god of hammers.”  The Hulk may be strong, but we saw the whooping Thor gave Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok, and that was without the hammer. Also, if he didn’t lose Mjölnir , he wouldn’t have gotten Stormbreaker — a weapon that may be superior to his original one.
