Batman: Why New 52 is a great starting point for new readers

A Different Beginning
Some things should remain the same when telling a new story about a classic character. However, some things should change to update the lore. For Bruce Wayne, the story of his parents getting shot in front of him should always be the reason he becomes the Caped Crusader. That remained the same.
This time, Bruce became Batman in a different way. Bruce was more bitter and angrier than we are used to seeing. He even flipped off Red Hood. We rarely see Bruce let his emotions get the best of him.
Bruce eventually became Batman, but that’s not the cool part. He found a way to show Batman saving Bruce Wayne. This took away any inkling that Bruce could be the Bat. This also explained why Batman would get his tech. It was paid for by the man who saved his life. It was a perfect alibi. Then there was the creation of Joker.
Joker still started off as the Red Hood. This time he wasn’t some random guy who was tricked into committing a crime. He was the crime boss. When Batman went to save him from falling into the chemicals that disfigured him, he was happy.
New 52 Batman is a perfect starting point for new readers. It also falls perfectly into DC Rebirth. This is the reason I started venturing into DC Comics more. This arc shows exactly why Batman will always be one of the greatest heroes of all time.
