Warmer Bros. isn’t holding back on their female-lead projects, as Zatanna is the latest name to join the sleight of DCEU films. Here’s who can play her.
Fans of DC Comics know all about the magical hero Zatanna Zatara. She’s the daughter of magical parents Sindella and Giovanni Zatara. Her history spans all across the scope of DC with connections to John Constantine, Justice League Dark, the Justice League, and Young Justice.
"“Zatanna is a superhero and one of the greatest magic-users in the DC Universe. Her father is the legendary magician Zatara and she works hard to live up to his legacy. The traditional method of spell-casting she uses involves speaking words and sentences backwards. In addition to her career as a hero, she is also a very notable stage performer.”"
Moreover, thanks to appearances in Smallville (Serinda Swan), Young Justice, and the DC animated film Justice League Dark, mainstream fans are also familiar with Zatanna. So when Warner Bros. announced they’ll give her a solo film, the excitement was understandable.
Trying to predict who’ll get cast in any role is more difficult than finding Waldo. Nevertheless, many of us can’t help but toy with the idea. After all, there are some actors who look like they are ripped straight from the comics.
Other times, a role they played might spark the idea for a comic characters they could play. As a fan of Zatanna, creating this list was thoroughly enjoyable.

10. Ana de Armas
There’s likely not a DCEU fan cast list that won’t have the talented Ana de Armas’ name. Ana de Armas is understandably a popular choice to play Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, in the DCEU. For the same reason, fans fell in love with her in Blade Runner, Hands of Stones, and Knock Knock, she’d nail Zatanna. Armas is an excellent actress who is ready for a breakout role. With black hair, she looks like she’s been ripped straight from the comics.
