Marvel Cinematic Universe: Russos confident that X-Men will appear

We’ve had no word or official image regarding the title or release of Avengers 4 yet, but the Russo Brothers are already looking to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

At the Ignition Conference hosted by Business Insider, the topic of the X-Men joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe came up as it has time and time again. This time though the Russo Brothers seemed very confident about the future. As reported by This Is Insider, Joe Russo stated that he’s “…sure of it,” in regards to the potential of appearances the X-Men and Deadpool in the MCU.

Russo continued on with constant praise of Kevin Feige saying “I’m certain, with Kevin Feige, who also has been on an historic run in the business, that he is going to incorporate those characters under the large Marvel umbrella.” And while they haven’t spoken with Feige about the topic in question, but that they’re looking forward to what the Disney acquisition of Fox will provide for Marvel Studios. It had previously been announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger that Feige will oversee Fox’s Marvel properties.

Feige wasn’t the only one being praised by Joe Russo though with Bob Iger being brought into the conversation as well. “Bob Iger, by the way, is an historic film executive. What he has done for Disney over the last 15 years, I don’t know that anyone’s ever done anything at the scale that he’s done it,” Russo stated regarding Iger’s impact on the entertainment space.

The brothers couldn’t escape the looming questions about Avengers 4 though and when asked if the could reveal the title, Anthony Russo replied, “We’d like to, but we won’t.” The first trailer for the highly-anticipated Avengers 4 is expected to drop this week, but may have been pushed back due to the funeral of President George H.W. Bush.
