John Cena as the next Captain America? We can’t see him. However, there are some comic book characters we can see him playing.

Long live Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers because fans don’t want to see anyone replace him. Especially not part-time WWE star turned movie star, John Cena. Although, he did say that he’d “totally do it.”

"“I think I’d be a good Captain America…and I’ve already ruined everyone’s childhood, so it can’t get any worse!”"

Sorry, Cena, fans can’t see you playing the role.

It’s nothing against the 6-foot, 250-pound former WWE champion. Cena truly displays some real-life Captain America qualities. He looks like he’s been ripped straight from the comics, and he’s a proud American who often commends our armed forces for their services.

Cena isn’t a bad actor at all. In fact, he’s had some really good performances. We’ve seen him take on comedic roles in Trainwreck and Blockers where he knocked it out of the park. He was a soldier in the war drama, The Wall. We’ll see him in the upcoming Transformers spin-off, Bumblebee where he’ll actually play Agent Burns.

And, he’ll team up with Jackie Chan Scott Waugh’s Project X-traction. Still, even with all that he’s accomplished and set to accomplish — Captain America isn’t someone we want to see him play. However, there are a few comic book characters perfectly suited for John Cena.

5. Metallo – John Corben

WWE fans have wanted Cena to turn heel (bad guy) for a long time. While it hasn’t happened in wrestling it can in a movie. Okay, he wasn’t great in Daddy’s Home 2, but that doesn’t count.

Playing John Corben, however, will count. Dude is an absolute beast with a story made for a feature film. The New Earth version of Corben works best for Cena. A former US soldier with psychotic murderous tendencies. He became Metallo after being struck by Kryptonite.

Sam Lane, a close mentor of Corben asked that Lex Luthor save his life. Upon the operation, Corben arose with a Kryptonite heart and new metallic armor.

We don’t know when we’re getting a Superman film but John Cena v Henry Cavil doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
