11. Kitty Pryde

Who is she?

Kitty Pryde has evolved as a character more than anyone in the X-Men. When she first joined the X-Men, she was just a wide-eyed kid just looking to fit in and learn about her powers.

On her first day, the X-Men were kidnapped by the Hellfire Club. Years later, she was possessed by a ninja demon, learned martial arts along the way, and is extremely dangerous with a sword. In Astonishing X-Men, she saved the world by using her phasing powers to stop a giant bullet from destroying the Earth and other planets in the universe. She is currently one of the leaders of the X-Men and leader of the mutants at the mansion.

Why does this work

Kitty Pryde could be one of the first (if not the first) Jewish women in the MCU. She is proud of her religious heritage and mutant heritage. She could be an example of what it means to be proud of who you are and standing up against tyranny. Also, Cyclops can’t always be the leader. There will come a time when the reins have to be passed down and Kitty would be a great pick. Having the opportunity to see her grow into a leader like Hermione in Harry Potter would be perfect.
