7. Jean Grey

Who is she?

Jean Grey went from being a timid teenager who was unsure about her powers to being the most powerful telekinetic in the world. She’s also a very underrated telepath. Jean has spent most of her life on the X-Men. Actually, the only time she wasn’t on the team was when she was dead (one of the dozen times) and when she was a member of X-Factor with the other original X-Men.

Jean Grey has been the host to the Phoenix Force and has destroyed entire planets. Once she gained control of her powers, she became arguably the strongest being in the universe.

Why this works

Famke Janssen did a good job as Jean Grey. X3 may not have been great, but she played the role she was given well. Sophie Turner was good in X-Men: Apocalypse, but we need to see what happens in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. She will likely have to be the scary possessed Jean Grey along with her role as a young mutant.

Jean is an essential part of the X-Men’s story. You can’t tell the X-Men story in the beginning without her. Hopefully Sophie Turner will kill her part in the next X-Men movie and she can continue to grow with her character with a jump to the MCU.
