3. Cyclops
Who is he?
Cyclops has been the leader of the X-Men since he was a teenager. He wasn’t always the confident guy in charge that we see today. He was insecure about everything from his powers to his ability to lead the team. As time went on, Cyclops became one of the best leaders in Marvel Comics.
I’d wager that he’s led teams that have saved the universe than anyone in Marvel Comics. Even when the future of mutant kind looked grim, Cyclops went from team leader to leader of an entire race. His methods may have been different, but his job has always been to keep mutants safe.
Why this works
Cyclops hasn’t really had a chance to shine in movies. James Marsden had the look and the acting skill, but not the appropriate script and Tye Sheridan hasn’t had enough time to prove himself. Cyclops is the heart and soul of the X-Men and they need him to lead when the franchise makes its way to the MCU.
Xavier was the founder, but Cyclops has always been more important. He has to be the one giving orders in the field and leading his team to victory. When the MCU gets hold of him, everyone will see why he’s one of the best X-Men ever.
