22. Lady Deathstrike

Who is she?

Lady Deathstrike may be the only person who hates Wolverine more than anyone on the planet. Including himself. Her father helped invent the process that put the adamantium on Wolverine’s bones and claws. Wolverine believes that he was captured and experimented on against his will (Even though Romulus did tell Wolverine that he volunteered for it then erased his memories).

In order to defeat Wolverine, Yuriko Oyama had Spiral turn her into a cyborg to exact her revenge on Wolverine. She even joined a mutant hating group called the Reavers who also had transformed and mutilated their bodies in the hopes of destroying mutantkind.

Why this works

There was a brainwashed version of Lady Deathstrike in X2: X-Men United. Her fighting was a good representation of the comic book character, but she lacked the personality. Putting her in the MCU means we will get all the anger and character that was missed in X2. There was no speech about how much she hated Logan and how she turned herself into a monster to fight him.

Adding things like this to Deathstrike would have given the audience a much better idea of who she was. We might have even felt sorry for her. She’s an underrated Wolverine villain who’s a must going forward.
