18. Daken

Who is he?

You want to talk about someone who may be the most devious new villain we’ve seen in years? Look no further than the son of Wolverine: Daken.

Wolverine thought Daken was killed while his mother was pregnant; however, he survived and inherited his father’s healing factor. Unfortunately, he survived only to be kidnapped and raised by a monster of a being named Romulus. He raised Daken to be a remorseless killer. Romulus also lied to Daken saying that his father (Wolverine) is responsible for his mother’s death. Even after Daken found out this wasn’t true, the damage had been done. Daken still harbored resentment for Logan for years to come.

Why this works

Daken is another villain with few redeemable qualities. He is willing to manipulate people and kill children to get what he wants. His snobby personality and need for the best things in life make him easy to despise. With his mutant power to control people’s emotions with his pheromones, it’s pretty easy for him to get whatever he wants.

Daken is a perfect villain to go up against Wolverine in multiple films and maybe even a TV show. Daken’s back story is also good enough to give him his own solo film that can lead up to him fighting his father or overcoming Romulus. Daken was also a member of the Dark Avengers. Maybe he could be part of that in the future. Let’s also note that his inclusion in the MCU could allow him to be the first bisexual character in the MCU.
