What Marvel Comics characters will have a big 2019?

Every year there are certain Marvel Comics characters that take a step in the right direction. Spider-Gwen, Kamala Khan, and Sabretooth (when he turned into a good guy) are examples of characters who took a leap in who they were in previous years. This year will be no different.

With movies like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse coming out late last year, Netflix shows like Punisher and Jessica Jones, and movies like Captain Marvel coming out this year, you will definitely see characters getting more of a spotlight. Here are the characters that you should be watching out for in 2019

Miles Morales

Miles Morales continues to make headlines in comic books. His movie Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse was a success and proved he could be a headliner at the theaters. In the comics, he’s continued to grow into a leader. Recently, he showed the Inheritors, Spider-People from other universes, and even the Enigma Force that he is not going to back down from a challenge and that he is one of the best Spider-Men despite his young age.

With Miles’ popularity growing it shouldn’t be a shock that he’ll be a character to look for in the upcoming year. Besides the movie, Miles also has a new ongoing series with a brand new creative team. Saladin Ahmed (Throne of the Crescent Moon, Black Bolt, Exiles) and artist Javier Garrón (Ant-Man and the Wasp) have already shown why that their take will be different from Brian Michael Bendis.

Bam Smack Pow writer Mike McNulty’s review pointed out that they’ve already tackled how Miles will struggle with things like immigration that he can’t solve with superpowers. And after how he handled himself in Spider-Geddon, look for Miles to continue to do amazing things.
