Captain Marvel released its latest trailer during the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Tuesday will mark exactly two months until Captain Marvel hits theaters. It’s Marvel Studios’ first film since July 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, which helped bridge viewers to Avengers: Endgame, the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Three.

One teaser and one full-length trailer already went public, but as the date approaches for the release of Captain Marvel, Marvel Studios will ramp up their hype for the Brie Larson-led film of Carol Danvers’ origin story.

Well, a prime spot was picked to promote this film, as new footage was shown during the College Football National Championship Game between Alabama and Clemson. Disney owns ESPN and Marvel Studios, which set up this avenue on Monday.

This clip showcased Carol and Nick Fury evaluating the Skrulls’ invasion. They will battle the Kree, another Marvel Comics-created race.

A scene with Danvers and Jude Law’s “unreleased” character identity also briefly made its way in, resembling him mentoring the younger hero.

While not groundbreaking footage, this was enough of a teaser to give fans something to look forward to and discuss for the next 60 days. Plus, it keeps Marvel in the news while the wait continues for Avengers: Endgame, as well, which Larson’s character will also take part in.

However, any way to get the ball rolling for one of the year’s biggest movies, right? This will fire up long-time fans of the MCU to see Danvers’ adventure, as it’s the first female-led film of this property with more to follow in Phase Four.
