The CW started to return its main shows on Tuesday, as The Flash aired its anticipated midseason premiere. Riverdale will carry that torch on Wednesday, Jan. 16, with the ninth episode of season 3 titled “Chapter Forty-Four: No Exit.”
The first eight episodes featured a chaotic arc for Archie Andrews, who was consistently on the run. It started with wrongful detainment in a juvenile prison, before an escape saw him leave and flee Riverdale.
Now, Hiram Lodge wants Archie dead and tried to execute this in the final episodes of the season’s first half. It’s difficult to believe his attempts will end and, eventually, their situation will come to a standstill.
In the meantime, Hiram seemingly sits near the top of the Gryphons and Gargoyles fiasco in Riverdale. Someone, or something, has lured in residents and killed them — particularly high-schoolers.

The usual crew, especially Betty and Jughead, have tried to solve this mystery.
Amid this, Betty was placed at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy to stay safe since the Gargoyle King, who’s identity remains a mystery, invaded her home. However, the Sisters of Quiet Mercy also joined the G&G fray.
Viewers met Jughead’s mother and sister, both of whom were long discussed on Riverdale. It clearly was not a one-off episode for them, so it will be interesting to see how they factor into the rest of season 3.
