The Flash is in the heart of its fifth season. Centered around Nora West-Allen’s arrival from the future, a developing plotline with Eobard Thawne and Cicada’s ongoing threat, there’s much to decipher around this long-time drama.
It’s possible this becomes the final episode of The Flash for a few weeks. Riverdale already started its February’s hiatus and Arrow follwed suit after Monday’s “Star City Slayer.”
With the Arrowverse shows usually pushed into May, it makes sense for Barry Allen and Co. to break now. With only 10 episodes left after “Cause and XS,” they need to space everything so it lasts until the late spring and shortens the gap between the season 5 finale and the season 6 premiere in October.

So, what will “Cause and XS” bring on Tuesday? It’s the 14th episode and should continue uncovering the work between Nora and Thawne, who took the young speedster under his wing in 2049. No one else knows of this, but could this become the episode where everyone discovers XS’ secret?
Aside from this, there’s the lingering newspaper article from the future on Barry’s disappearance. As Team Flash tries to change the future, it’s impacting the Scarlet Speedster’s narrative. Will the rest of season 5 imply his demise in the eventual “Crisis on Infinite Earths” in the fall?
